Aldi is renowned for memes of people popping in for dinner and coming home with a trumpet and canoe!

However, their middle aisles can have some handy stuff that won’t end up being a random one-off purchase.

A few times a year, Aldi runs a baby event specialbuy promotion with the centre of their shop packed with cheap stuff for babies and toddlers.

This can include clothing, toys, household safety items, tableware, bottles, and on-the-go essentials for travelling with kids.

What’s on offer?

Aldi’s Baby Event is the perfect opportunity to find everything you need for your little ones.

You can expect great deals on nappies, wipes, baby food, and clothing.

Plus, watch out for discounts on bigger items like high chairs, baby monitors, and even nursery furniture.

Top brands and Aldi’s trusted own-brand products will be available at decent prices.

How to make the most of the sale

Plan ahead

Check out Aldi’s website or app for a sneak peek of the sale items.

This can allow you to see if you want to make a trip to the store (which can help you not end up buying other stuff for the sake of it!)

You can also use the time to see if the prices or items can be found cheaper elsewhere. Just because Aldi offers good value doesn’t mean you might not find the same items with better value elsewhere.

(Also see the Tesco Toy Event or the Lidl Baby Event).

Cashback?

You can sometimes get cashback when shopping in store at Aldi.

The AirTime Rewards app can offer up to 3% back when you use your debit card.

Also, check the Halifax, Natwest or Lloyds cashback sections in the banking app. Aldi sometimes appears there as a one-off cashback offer. You do need to opt in before you go shopping.

Budget wisely

With such great prices, it’s easy to go overboard.

Set a budget and stick to it.

What are Aldi Specialbuys?

Aldi offers many themed promotional special buy events (similar to the “middle of Lidl”).

New products include kitchen, home, DIY, toys, hobbies and crafts, electrical, fitness, laundry and cleaning.

The new event takes place each Thursday and Sunday. If you want something in particular, head to the store on the first day of their promo.

Stock can be limited. The store only gets a selected amount, and when it’s gone, it’s gone.

You can find out the current and upcoming events by picking up a leaflet the next time you shop, looking at their digital leaflets, using their app, or signing up for the Aldi newsletter to get previews.

Can I shop online?

Not anymore. You used to be able to get Specialbuys online, but Aldi stopped online orders in July 2022.

While you can get your groceries with click and collect at Aldi, it doesn’t include any of their special buys.

So, if you wanted to pick something up that’s part of the baby promotion, you’d need to shop in the supermarket only.

Aldi’s Baby and Toddler Event is more than just a special promotion; it’s a chance for parents to get high-quality products without breaking the bank.

Whether you’re expecting, have a newborn, or are tackling the terrific twos, this event has something for everyone.
